Living in Portugal and discovering fresh fish through a fisherman’s eyes changed everything. From Polvo to Dorada, I share what I learned about buying, tasting,…

Hi, I’m Elke.
I moved from Belgium to Portugal looking for a slower, simpler life.
What started as a search for something different eventually became a life I never quite expected: off-grid, in a Tiny House, surrounded by nature, dogs, and a lot more silence than I was used to.
On this blog, I share what it’s really like to build a life in Portugal: the beauty, the rough edges, the unexpected turns, and the everyday moments that make this place feel like home.
I’m still curious. I’m still figuring things out. So I guess I write about that too.
These days, I’m less interested in having everything figured out and more interested in seeing where life takes me.
Oh, and somewhere along the way, I opened a natural wine bar in Sagres. Because apparently a slower life can still be full of surprises.
Welcome to my little corner of Portugal. 🇵🇹
